Rana Cömertpay
Dr. Rana Cömertpay is a Research Associate in Development Economics at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER). In her role, she evaluates development policies in Africa, collaborating with J-PAL Europe, LuxDev, and the Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Luxembourg.
Dr. Rana’s research focuses on migration economics, particularly forced displacement, development, and conflict economics. Her current work explores the implications of forced
displacement for social cohesion and conflict, the role of media in migration and conflict decisions, and the influence of demographic changes on public attitudes and behaviors. Additionally, she is exploring the impact of vocational training on youth employment, with a
specific interest in women and young girls in developing countries.
